Backagarden

Backagården's market garden has existed since the 1930s and it remained in the same location when a new owner took over in 2018. Then it was time to update and further develop Backagården.

In Finja just outside Hässleholm, there was a market garden that was in great need of renovation and improvement. The project aimed to broaden the target group, among other things by increasing interest in growing your own vegetables and being an interesting destination for families with children.

The building was renovated, eaves were installed and the roof was sealed. The red side building was divided into two parts: a chicken coop and an animal stable. Furniture was purchased for the part of the store that would offer coffee. Shortly before the end of the project, Backagården started selling its own organic flour, which was ground to order. Delivering fruit baskets to companies was not a planned activity from the beginning, but when it was successful, it became an ongoing service to customers.

The project resulted in a new destination and a wider clientele. For a time, refurbished vintage furniture was sold and the Children's Mini Zoo generated a new cultural and leisure activity.

At the end of 2019, Handelsträdgården announced that they would be open for the last time with a total sale and then the store would close.
