High-altitude cable car in Sandåkra

The project was implemented in Leader Lag PH during the 2014-2024 programming period.

The nature at Sandåkra has unique opportunities with suitable trees and large elevation differences – perfect for adventures at height. The vision was to develop and make high-altitude experiences accessible for everyone.

About the project

To attract more people to experience training, mobility, and adventure in a unique natural environment and contribute to a positive addition to the local economy, this project was initiated.

Activities

The construction and building of the high ropes course was carried out with a safety system that manages different forms of functional variations. The area around the facility was made more accessible, including wheelchair-accessible paths, adapted benches, tables, and toilets.

The company's Facebook page and website were launched, and during the course of the project, several different collaborations were initiated, for example with Hotel Statt and Lunnahöjagårdens Hostel.

Results

Even though the project owner worked with long-term processes from the beginning, several concrete results were already evident by the end of the project. It became clear early on, according to reviews on various websites, that the destination was very popular. On TripAdvisor, the 127 people who left their reviews gave the high ropes course 5 points out of 5 possible.

The project also created two new services and two new products. The business increased its profitability, and approximately 2,300 day visitors have participated in the experiences, about half of whom are tourists.
