Krispet – New product for stable animals

As an experienced farmer, Kristina saw a clear need to develop a new scraper for cleaning the animal stables. When she received information about the Leader method, it suddenly became possible to actively do something about it.

To contribute to more efficient cleaning in the stables and to ensure cleaner beds for the animals, the project would develop both a new prototype and product.

To create both a design and technical documentation, a CAD drawing was produced by Kristina together with Viktor Huggare. The drawing is digitally based and is used when making technical drawings. The collaboration with Huggare resulted in seven prototypes, three of which were produced in materials that would work best in future productions. When the prototypes were ready, three reference farms were selected to test the scraper in their own operations. The farms that tested the scraper had three different focuses: milk, meat and horses. After the evaluation, the best one was selected and discussions were held with Formteknik in Gislaved. The discussions were about different manufacturing processes, how best to distribute the product and place orders for upcoming sales.

The scraper was manufactured and all project goals have been met. One of the goals was to produce 20 copies, which was also achieved – plus an additional 30 copies! In addition to an updated and improved product, the project has resulted in broadened expertise and five new collaboration partners.

The project has been marketed on Facebook there but has also had the opportunity to follow the work, from idea to finished product. After the project ended, Kristina was busy finding different sales channels to reach a wider market.
