Full speed ahead in Farstorp

After receiving clear signals, especially from the young people in Farstorp, that a renewal was needed, the project idea began to emerge. Other target groups were also important, such as older people who live socially isolated and young people who have never had an interest in sports or exercise.

In the wake of the pandemic, it turned out that many who were previously active in training had come to terms with it and the need for a new spark was clear. That is why Farstorps Goif began to gather strength – they would find solutions that would benefit both social participation and physical health. In fact, the famous ”crack” came when the association saw how great the commitment really was – then work began on building a multi-arena next to the village sports field.

In addition to building an outdoor gym and a multi-arena with around eight new sports, the area was also updated to be a safer and more accessible place. Both lighting and parking spaces were improved. The work was completed and the result was ready for inauguration in June 2024. The sunny inauguration day showed great turnout, curiosity and joy.

Behind the great result is of course the project owner Farstorps Goif, but also several partners, suppliers and a wonderful number of locally committed people. Parents of children who practice football can also train themselves in the outdoor gym. The association's men's and women's teams use the multi-arena as part of their various training sessions. The teams can use both the gym and the multi-arena as part of the pre-season, which means that they do not need to rent in other places in the municipality. These are some of the fantastic results that were already apparent before the opening!

At the opening, there were positive comments and there was a lot of interest. In addition, both the results and the appearance were much better than initially expected. Now the activities continue with, among other things, a summer sports school for the children, walking football for seniors and outdoor days for the students at Farstorp school!
