Bromölla in mosaic – together we create safer meeting places

The project ”A safer and more beautiful city” aims to strengthen safety, comfort, and local pride in Bromölla through artistic design and broad citizen participation. Through mosaic works and creative workshops, public environments will be transformed into more attractive, inclusive, and identity-creating places.

The project begins with two prioritized locations in Bromölla: the facade at Ratten 2 by E22 and the area in front of the Police House on Köpmansgatan. At these locations, mosaic designs and an artistic sculpture will be created together with residents, associations, retirees, youth, and individuals in work training. The goal is to create environments that are perceived as welcoming, safe, and vibrant.

The project is based on an inclusive work process where participants are involved in everything from idea development and design to practical creation and installation. The work is led by professional artistic competence and is combined with improved lighting to further enhance safety in the relevant areas.

A long-term goal is to develop a model for creative place development that can be used in more parts of the municipality. By involving residents in the development of their local environment, the project aims to strengthen community, sense of responsibility, and social sustainability. At the same time, the initiative contributes to reducing vandalism, strengthening local engagement, and highlighting Bromölla's identity as a culture and mosaic city.
