Rural areas within the EU are facing growing challenges, strong local networks and economic stability are becoming even more important.
For over 30 years, Leader has been an important player in rural development, but funding is decreasing despite the expectation to deliver more.
Leaders' European central organization ELARD has created a call to action through a number of key individuals. If we succeed in gathering 1 million votes in support of this, the EU must consider the petition.
The demand in the petition is that Leader should be embedded in the core of EU policy, but time is short. The upcoming programming period will be decided in the not too distant future.
