Entrepreneurial environment

The project was implemented in Leader Lag PH during the 2014-2024 programming period.

This growth project focused on making it easier for residents of Hässleholm Municipality to start and run their own businesses. It led to both more jobs and a more attractive and vibrant municipality.

About the project

Small and medium-sized municipalities often have various problems with qualified labor, where companies choose to move to other locations. To counteract this, the project would start a local alternative to the networks that exist for entrepreneurs and companies in larger cities, such as Malmö. In doing so, the project also wanted to inspire residents of the municipality to entrepreneurship.

Activities

The initial phase was characterized by marketing in the form of networking, outreach activities and inauguration events. The contact list of stakeholders that was created at the beginning of the project was expanded to 282 people. The entrepreneurial environment was filled with activities such as workshops, start-your-own meetings and various forms of inspirational lectures.

Instead of hiring an advisor to help people with business ideas, they decided to utilize the expertise that was already in place. Therefore, an agreement was made with the New Business Center in Hässleholm, which volunteered its time to the project.

Results

The project created a new meeting place for the business community in Hässleholm Municipality. This in turn has resulted in new meetings, collaborations, networks, knowledge and inspiration.

Despite the fact that the corona pandemic brought major restrictions, the results turned out to be beyond expectations. 100 new companies were started as a result of the project and its efforts, of which about half were started by women. 550 companies and organizations received help and advice. In addition, communication channels between the municipality and the local business community were improved.

The entrepreneurial environment at Norra Station continues to carry out its own and joint activities that provide the business community with an established meeting place.
