Hässleholm Culture Days

Through broad collaboration, the project would promote a broader view of culture and strengthen both the attractiveness and participation in the social, creative, inclusive and experiential society.

After the pandemic, several actors found it difficult to return to the audience and visitor numbers that were a reality before. Therefore, the project had as its starting point the creation of a common meeting place to draw attention to the large and wide range of cultural offerings in the municipality of Hässleholm. Culture has a positive impact in many different ways, something that the project owner wanted to bring to residents and visitors in Hässleholm.

For three days in September 2023, Hässleholms Kulturdagar took place at various venues in the city center. Thanks to representatives from Hässleholms Teaterförening and Hässleholms Konstförening, the initiative for these packed days was taken - and gradually several other actors were included, such as companies and civil servants within the municipality. The project wanted to highlight several areas within the cultural sector around recurring events and activities: theater, dance, film, music and art.

During the first year of Hässleholms Kulturdagar, 53 different events were included and the content was quite broad. From Pavarotti singers and Malmö Opera to circuses and a short film festival – to name a few! That the center organization HässleCity The participants also contributed to the city center being filled with a variety of local merchants who had their restaurants, shops and food carts open during the three days.

The results showed that several objectives were achieved. The well-attended days can be confirmed by the fact that no less than 3,000 information sheets were distributed, and all the produced material was sold out during the cultural days.

Working together on a broad front with others to increase the competitiveness of the cultural sector and create shared cultural spaces was another important result. Thanks to the project, new forms of collaboration emerged between associations, businesses and the municipality, which provides a good foundation for future initiatives.
