The country location
The project Läget Landet will focus on the current issue of the balance between city and country. Through an annual event, we want to demonstrate the commitment that residents and businesses have and the synergies that the connection between city and country can provide.
About the project
The idea was born from the image of the countryside, which is described by the author Po Lindholm in the book Läget i landet, which highlights a countryside in crisis. But also as part of the final report; "For Sweden's countryside - a coherent policy for work, sustainable growth and welfare" that the parliamentary rural development committee submitted in 2017 and which will lead to a bill in March 2018.
A day with a focus on the situation in the country, and especially with a focus on the situation in the northeastern part of Skåne, aims to highlight issues about the countryside and the connection between city and country on the map with a chance for residents and businesses in northeastern Skåne to contribute to the discussion. Inspiration for the day's layout has been taken from, among other things, Skåne Northeast's Business Day.
The first Läget Landet day will be held in the spring of 2018, followed by a day in 2019 and a day in 2020. The different years have different themes that are all taken from the strategy for Skånes Ess. Sustainability is the common thread where the perspectives of economic, social and ecological sustainability characterize the content each year. As an overall common thread, there is collaboration and influence. Participants have the chance to collaborate with each other and create new constellations and/or innovations.
The country-day location is based on the geographical area of Skånes Ess and is aimed at target groups living and/or working in the area.

By focusing on and engaging in dialogue around the issue of the city-country balance, the project contributes to promoting the development and identity of the entire region. With this project, Skånes Ess wants to raise issues about the countryside and the connection between city and country, with an opportunity for residents and those active in northeastern Skåne to contribute to the discussion. The project offers a comprehensive event in an area where there is great potential for rural development and city-countryside collaboration, not least in tourism and outdoor recreation.
