Motorhome parking Gustavsborg in Perstorp

The project aimed to create and offer new parking spaces for caravans and motorhomes for a new meeting place in beautiful nature. With the help of a popular app, more and more can now discover and enjoy nature in Perstorp municipality.

In the southern parts of the municipality lies Perstorp's golf course, surrounded by exceptionally scenic environments. Here there are beautiful beech forests, lakes of various sizes, and several historical sites. The increased demand for more parking spaces created a new project idea to welcome both for a round of golf and stays in the beech forests.

To welcome more tourists and offer better service solutions, the project aimed to develop more parking spaces with electrical outlets in connection with the golf club.

Initially, the trees and bushes that needed to be removed for the exposed area were felled. The material for the area was leveled, and electrical cables were run to three poles, each with two outlets. This allows for a total of six caravans/campers to rent their own parking space.

Once the electrical cables were in place, the top surface layer was laid. It consisted first of coarse gravel, then a road fabric, and on top, stone dust. At the project's conclusion, the golf club will connect to an app that is common among motorhome drivers – it shows where various parking spaces are located.

A significant amount of the work has been carried out thanks to the expertise available within the golf club, such as tree felling on a voluntary basis and project management by the association's chairman. Other parts of the work were carried out by hired professional contractors, such as a hired machine operator.

Now six new and attractive spots are ready for rental, just as the project aimed for. The new network that has been created with Perstorp municipality and its tourist office means that drivers of motorhomes and caravans can be referred to the new parking spaces.

The work to develop a maintenance plan to maintain the fine quality has been prepared, and the project owner expects full effect to come in the year 2025. Thanks to these new parking spaces for motorhome and caravan drivers, there is now a new destination in scenic surroundings that the public can enjoy.
