Accessible equestrian facility
The equestrian facility of the future takes shape in Vinslöv
About the project
How do you create an equestrian facility where everyone can participate – regardless of functional ability? In Vinslöv, the development project "Accessibility-adapted equestrian facility for the inclusive eventing sport of the future" is taking shape, with the goal of making the association's activities more accessible, inclusive and open to more people.
The project name reflects the association's identity and ambition within eventing, but the project's efforts have a broader accessibility perspective. The adaptations are aimed at the facility's functions and meeting environments, enabling more people to participate in the activities, even if the eventing courses themselves are not covered by accessibility measures.
The project aims to adapt the Vinslöv Rural Equestrian Association's facility to be accessible in order to welcome new target groups and broaden the activities. Through investments in an elevator, accessible toilets, an adapted club kitchen and a sit-up ramp with a traverse, the conditions are created for people with functional variations to be able to participate in both activities and community on equal terms.
The initiative contributes to a broader and more inclusive operation where the facility can be used for more types of activities, such as courses, training, trial activities and social meetings. The project is carried out in collaboration with actors such as DHR, Furuboda and local organizations, which strengthens the connection to the needs of the target groups and creates the conditions for the facility to also be used by external actors, for example in rehabilitation, leisure activities and education.
By opening up the facility to new uses and actors, a long-term structure for collaboration and efficient use of resources in the countryside is created. The project thus contributes to increased participation, strengthened social sustainability and a more attractive and inclusive countryside.

Total selection criteria: 630 points
The board's justification: The board approves the project because it falls within the area's development strategy through investments in place attractiveness that contribute to increased participation. Through broad collaboration, the project creates the conditions for a meeting place for many and not just a facility for riders.
