This week we are delighted to welcome our new project manager and youth coach, Ermina Ström, to the team! We have long been looking forward to having a colleague with a full focus on the young residents of the Leader area – and now she is finally here.
Hi Ermina, how does it feel to be up and running?
It feels super wonderful!
What are you most passionate about when working with young people?
Young people's participation and influence are close to my heart. Collaboration with associations, companies and municipalities to create good living conditions for young people.
Can you tell us a little about your background – what did you do before you started here?
I have had various roles throughout my 20 years of experience in creating good conditions for young people. I have mostly worked in the culture and leisure sector. In addition, I help out in the family business – where ice cream is the main ingredient.
Do you have a dream or vision for how you want the work with young people in the area to develop?
I dream of a meaningful, safe, and inclusive (full of opportunities) community for young people in the area.
What do you think is most important for young people to feel involved in the local community?
Being responsive and daring to test ideas that come from young people.
What do you like to do in your free time when you're not working?
Hanging out with my kids, my family, and eating ice cream.
If you had to describe yourself in three words – which ones would you choose?
Energetic, warm, and honest.
Do you have a motto or quote you like?
