More attractive locations in Hässleholm Municipality

The project wanted to create an arena for dialogue between citizens and actors from the public, private and non-profit sectors. Together, they focused on creating a common vision for the future.

Leader LAG PH wanted to contribute to creating a closer dialogue between citizens and stakeholders in the municipality of Hässleholm in order to also create more attractive and vibrant places.

By collecting data, the project also aimed to develop a common vision for what attractive locations should look like in the future. In addition to this shared vision, the aim was to create individual village development plans for the locations that took part in the project.

The towns included in the project were Ballingslöv, Bjärnum, Hästveda, Sösdala, Tyringe, Vinslöv and Vittsjö. First, key people were sought in each town who could lead the local working groups in the future. Together with residents of the participating towns, walking tours were carried out where they could share both their views on and wishes for the development of their hometown.

During the various meetings and workshops that were organized, it soon became clear that there were several common denominators between the locations. Many of the problems were the same, which made it clear how they could benefit from collaborating on these issues.

Among the many successes that the project resulted in are six individual village development plans, seven new virtual meeting places in the form of Facebook groups, and eight different networks that have been created both between the localities and between municipal officials and politicians.

In most locations, activities were carried out despite the pandemic partially putting a damper on community life. These ranged from litter pick days and washing local signs to generating three additional independent leader projects.

Twelve people to take part in an internal training to become group leaders, which means broadening the skills of several participants. The big win lies in bringing localities together to get a holistic view of the overall development. The network has strengthened everyone involved and previously closed doors have been opened.
