The Hop Trail – Worth Another Day
The project was carried out in Skånes Ess during the 2014-2024 program period.
The purpose of the project was to investigate the tourism industry's interest in product development and new services along the Humleslingan trail.
About the project
The Humleslingan association brings together the tourism industry around Lake Ivösjön in the municipalities of Kristianstad and Bromölla. At the end of 2017, the association had 56 company and association members. The majority of the companies are small-scale enterprises that must meet the challenges of running seasonal operations in the tourism industry.
The project was carried out to investigate the interest of members, municipalities and partners in the association developing products and services that make visitors stay an extra day in the area. The implementation consisted of a survey, dialogue with potential partner associations and the municipality, and a member meeting together with the municipalities.
Experiences gained have resulted in a report and a decision document that has been submitted to the association's board, and the results have also been reported to partners such as Skåne Nordost, Bromölla Municipality and Kristianstad Municipality. The decision document includes three proposals that aim to support member companies: an app, travel packaging and coordination. The project's analyses will also be used by Bromölla Municipality in the design of the upcoming tourism industry strategy.
The project has provided in-depth knowledge and a basis for cooperation within the tourism industry and between municipalities.

A well-described project that, through innovative collaboration, aims to develop a basis for strengthening the region's business activities through the development and packaging of products and services. This strengthens the area's brand and destination and thus contributes to profiling the area. The project fits well into Skånes Ess strategy and contributes to the goals for 2014-2020.
