Meeting point in Torsjö

Tyringe Home Guard had the potential to become a good meeting place for various activities and entertainment but was in need of renovation. Through the project, the place became accessible to everyone, regardless of mobility impairment.

Tyringe and the surrounding area had a need for meeting places where everyone could meet in different contexts. The project's goal was to make the Home Guard building in Tyringe accessible to create just such a meeting place. The aim was also to arouse greater interest in the premises among potential, future tenants.

Initially, the old investigation was torn down. Then work began on laying new floors, replacing all windows, painting walls, building a new kitchen and replacing the front doors. New lighting and a disabled ramp were installed to increase accessibility. Safety was improved by installing a defibrillator, which people were also trained in using. Alarms were also installed, both in case of evacuation and in case of burglary.

In addition to a new, accessible meeting place, networks between several new entrepreneurs and volunteers have been established. Ten people were trained during the project, both in terms of volunteer work and defibrillator training. The activities continued after the end of the project, where an important step was how to market the premises in the best way.
