The highlight of the summer in Kristianstad Municipality? Everyone is welcome to this fast-paced car meet and family party!

Nitro Night is a car and family event that will be held at Kristianstad Karting Klubb on July 19, 2025. The aim is to create a safe, inclusive and fast-paced evening that unites car enthusiasts, young people and families with children. The event consists of a car show with an award ceremony, DJ and music, a car-free area with children's activities such as a bouncy castle and face painting, and food sales via food trucks. Exhibitors from various industries and volunteers contribute to creating a lively meeting place.

The project has grown out of a local commitment to car culture and a desire to offer a positive, organized alternative to unsafe car gatherings. The goal is to attract at least 1,500 visitors, of which at least 30 % children and families. The organizing team consists of young people with experience from events, social media and association life, with a focus on equality and diversity – at least half of the organizers are women, and women in car culture are highlighted in both the program and social media.

The project also focuses on sustainability by offering tap water, recycling stations and clear information about environmental work. At least 20 volunteers from different backgrounds are trained in safety, hospitality and sustainability, which strengthens social commitment.

Nitro Night is aimed at both young people interested in cars and the general public, and creates benefits for visitors, volunteers, local businesses and the municipality at large. The long-term goal is to establish Nitro Night as an annual tradition that promotes safety, integration and local community.
