Marina in Österslöv

The project was carried out in Skånes Ess during the 2014-2024 program period.

The purpose of the project was to create a safe harbor in Österslöv to enable local residents and visitors to experience the beautiful nature that Österslöv and Lake Råbelöv offer.

About the project

In Råbelövssjön there was only a narrow, temporary launching ramp, despite the fact that the lake had been used extensively for fishing and boating. The project consisted of building a safe starting point, a marina and in addition creating a gathering place where individuals and associations, organizations and companies can meet in new constellations and for activities. Through this, the association wanted to strengthen the identity of Österslöv and Råbelövssjön and contribute to the area's accessibility and positive development.

Through the project, a central place in Österslöv has been created for boating and fishing enthusiasts and for everyone else who wants to take part and enjoy the proximity to the beautiful Råbelövssjön. This includes:

  • a well-functioning marina with moorings for rent,
  • a wide cast launching ramp with an associated disabled-accessible dock,
  • a pier southwest of the launching ramp with spaces for visiting boats,
  • location and permit for two sauna floats, one of which is rented out,
  • parking spaces, one of which is reserved for people with disabilities and one for electric vehicles,
  • parking signs,
  • a disabled-accessible dry toilet,
  • three lifebuoys, two trash cans, a dog latrine and a notice board,
  • an electrical installation with sockets on the piers.
  • a lighting system with ten outdoor lights and two indoor lights,
  • a seawater pump with associated hose system and three water outlets,
  • a charging station for electric vehicles,
  • a gathering place consisting of a grassy, well-mowed meadow,
  • seven bench tables with parasols, two barbecues and a football goal,
  • an Internet connection with free wireless network,
  • a large illuminated notice board,
  • a movable event stage.

Results

The project has created a facility that is appreciated by local residents, boat mooring tenants, ramp users and others who utilize it in various ways. The site is also used, for example, by the rescue services, who have received a good launching ramp for their rescue boats, and by the police, who practice searching with dogs in the water.

LAG board's justification for car accident
The project provides the conditions for a physical meeting place for togetherness with the opportunity for exchanges of interests between individuals with different social and cultural backgrounds. The Byhamnen association wants to contribute to a vibrant countryside by creating a place where individuals and associations, organizations and companies can meet in new constellations and activities, for everyone in the local area and in the region. In the longer term, the association also wants to initiate and contribute to environmental work in and around Råbelövssjön. This fits well with Skånes Ess strategy and contributes to the goals for 2014-2020.
